Web1 de jun. de 2012 · Is it possible to have the steering cable shortened? The one i have is about 3' to long. It has the nut to mount to the motor and the quick connect at the helm. The inner cable is threaded like a long flexible screw. I have been told that it is not possible, but somehow they are cut and ends are added when purchased new. WebStick steering allows an outboard-powered boat to be steered from the front of the craft, without installing an independent steering system. When the stick is moved, the cable rotates a drum that's connected to the steering unit on the outboard. Stick steering units are easily installed and are fairly inexpensive ($200 to $500).
